I think I am genuinely lost for words today after what we witnessed last night. Germany were ruthlessly brilliant all round and Brazil were totally and utterly awful. Luiz and Marcelo may as well have put German kits on and kicked the other way.

I did like the tweets that were appearing as the slaughtering was happening. The best of them can be seen here for a laugh

My favourite was this one

Now obviously the clamour is that Germany now look unbeatable and they were very good. That said Brazil were rubbish but still managed to create 3 or 4 very good chances and I cannot see either of tonights semi finalists whichever one of them goes on to play Germany offering themselves up as a walkover for sure. It was a freak result but certainly one that will have the Germans brimming with confidence come Sunday.

So tonight sees Netherlands v Argentina and I will have a small bet on Argentina at 2.48.

I said before the Belgium game that Argentina were not firing on all cylinders this tournament and I think with the front line I maybe was expecting fireworks however they have been rock solid except for the Nigeria game and have 8 clean sheets in 10. I think they will do a professional job tonight and deny space for Robben and Van Persie. I expect as it should be at this stage it will be a tight game but I just favour the front line of Argentina to penetrate the Dutch at some stage in the game particularly after the exertions of the Dutch being taken to penalties against Costa Rica. Higuains goal will give him a confidence boost and I am going to have a small bet on him at 8.4 for first goalscorer again.

I see Hills are offering 9/1 Robben to be booked for diving and I have to have a small bet on that, I said to my son if Argentina take the lead look for Robben to start hitting the deck, now there is a market for it I have to back that up with a small financial interest.

  1. After my prediction that last nights match would be tight
and going for the draw, not sure I should say anything.

But nothing vetured; I still think tonight will be tight and will
    go draw & 1-0. 0-1 c/s.

    Agree re Robben.

  2. Also with you Guys and feel that the 9-1 for Robben to be booked for diving is incredible value – anywhere other then HILLS that I can place this Bet as I’m restricted on this site nowadays!
It will be interested to see what frame of mind Cillessen will be since being substituted for Penalties in the previous game. Surely he’s going to be thinking that the same thing could well happen again and if he lets just ONE in early (Also thinking Higuain!) we might see a REPEAT (Well not THAT bad!) of last night’s performance…

  3. Well that was a massive surprise not that the Germans won more the score line,i said yesterday the Germans and i said about defenses, i shouldn’t have put an S on defences as there was only one defence, and i said i would wait for half time before i had a bet,at half time in away score market i done 7-0 7-1 7-2 the odds were between roughly 40-50 i had five on each,i cash out with ten min to go as i thought Germany would score again, which ozil should of done so i picked up 123 instead of 190,doubt that will happen tonight extra time on this and lay 0-0 half time for me
