Some System Builder Clarity!

Lots of emails regarding the System Builder this week to the extent I am struggling to get everything done, that is fine as we want to help people here. The results sheet published last week shows a few options for betting the horses, just the top 3, Over 2.99, Over 5.99 etc. As I said in that post and as was highlighted again in the mail to users yesterday the Top 3 in 8+ races is having a great October. However my belief is that long term and I am only going to look long term is that using Top 3 over 6+ in the 8+ runner races is more profitable. If you look back to the results sheets I posted in the summer the Top 3 with no price filter had a shocking time, as it did last November/December. Lots of short priced winners and selections meant it was impossible to profit as you could back 3 in a race price 2.1, 2.8 and 3.5 and the 2.1 wins losing you 0.9 points. This happened repeatedly.

Everybody has to decide what sort of gambler they are I prefer bigger prices and accept I will have a few more losing days and runs. A run of 20 losers does not bother me when I know that a couple of winners turns it back into profit. If you need the assurance of regular winners then lower your price threshold. Someone backing 3.0 shots will have shorter losing runs that me backing 6.0+ that is just basic maths. Unfortunately people start to leave, moan and bombard me with abuse when a 20 shot does not win every day. They probably should not be punting.

Of course you may have days where two or three 4.5 winners win in races and you did not bet them. Easy to remember the winners we miss what about all the losers? Of course there may be a 12 winner on the flat that I miss as I do NH racing only at this time of year. That is life I want to bet what wins over time not “ooh I missed a winner today” and throw the toys out of the pram.

The sheet shows the results INCLUDING non runners being substituted and INCLUDING the replacement of horses in the top 3 priced under 6 with the 4th rated if it is over 6.

I appreciate that this takes time and ties you to the screen all day. I myself cannot operate this way checking every runner and every price throughout the whole afternoon as I have lots of other things going on and Saturdays for example there are football markets etc I need to monitor. I bot the selections by setting my bot up about 20 minutes before racing starts. I replace all non runners at that time with the next rated and I input the top 3 rated after that process into the bot to be bet at odds of 6+, 5 minutes before the off. On the sheet backing the 4th rated runner shows a loss so the fact I am not substituting every horse below 6 is in my opinion for the coming months not something I need to worry about the difference will be negligible. Backing the 4th rated in the summer also showed a loss after NR’s were all substituted etc. As we go on if it does prove that it is needed it will be built into the automated process I am working towards.

I currently am not betting flat racing as it ends next week anyhow and I am just monitoring Wolves which is showing a significant loss at the moment and if that continues I expect it will be removed from the template in an update, it needs monitoring as Wolves has a new racing surface.

The automated process will not be available until the New Year as it needs significant development and then testing to ensure it works exactly as intended and I need to also weigh up the cost of having this developed compared to numbers wishing to use it. We are small fry compared to the marketing power houses.

Like everything people need to be patient and take their time so that they understand the process it is fairly simple really. We will help and it does work. It has been requested just for a tipping service of the races and this is something I need to think about, many users use the ratings for their own trends etc and I need to think about how just tipping off the sheet affects those people in the longer term

1. Download the Daily Sheet

2. Paste the runners into the provided templates, these are mailed to every subscriber on signing up, check the email you registered with. Run the templates one at a time and run the macros. ( I will look to do a post with the templates in it for download, updated when the templates are updated as it seems many cannot find the templates in the email or don’t seem to get this email). If you don’t have the templates email me and I will email you a copy of mine.

3.Highlight any races that the macro shows for that day

4. Decide on your betting criteria – All races, Top 3, Top 3 over 6 etc etc

5a Place the bets manually using the Betfair SP option and set a minimum price

OR

5b Enter selections in a bot such as GHB or my preference BETEngine

It is more clear that whilst i find this product simple and it takes about 15 mins start to finish, people are confused and we need to change the presentation of it. I will look to add more videos etc when time permits – no idea when that will be but I will get to it as soon as.
