What The Tech?

As a self proclaimed disciple of the pen and paper my online activity has led me over the years to get more and more “techy” in my set up. I am a firm believer that gambling is like a lot of leisure past-times, in the fact that people spend far too much money on things they don’t need. Their thinking is that they should have it, as it will improve performance rather than working on the basics first. Golf for example is a sport where people turn up with a bag of clubs totalling well into four figures but a grip that will never allow them to use the clubs properly and could be fixed by a much cheaper half hour lesson.

I am often asked about how many screens I have? What software I use? Bots, Excel triggers, fast pictures etc etc etc.

I actually do most of my betting using the standard Betfair interface (old site as I do get mild symptoms of Betfair rage at the new one) and a 3 year old Macbook Pro.

You can have all the kit in the world but if you have no idea what you are doing it ain’t going to make you profitable.

Now that said, I have made some tech advancements in recent years. I do use Grey Horse Bot to place some horse lays which is purely for convenience as a set and forget in the morning. I recently acquired a dropbox account which saves and backs up all my spreadsheets so I now can sleep tight knowing that a computer error or more serious home accident won’t lose all my data. (The wife recently spilt a full coffee over her Macbook Air consigning it to the computer graveyard).

However all that has been eclipsed by a piece of software that I came across earlier this year and which has changed the way I work and it is not hyperbole to say, that on a betting and profit point of view it has changed my life.

I am well aware and have mentioned numerous times on this site that there are people far cleverer than me who read and use this site. I am sure many of them are successful with the sort of tech that I mention above. Excel sheets etc that bots read and trigger bets, the mere thought starts to frazzle my brain.

FTS has put me in a position to meet some of the visitors/users/subscribers of this site and some of them are highly skilled. On the FTS forum we have regular poster HiArt who I met a few years ago and would like to think have stayed good friends with. I know my lack of technical organisation at times has had HiArt pulling his hair out as he possesses the ability to customise a Betfair bot to almost anything I come up with but I change my requirements or fail to follow through on his data as time presses.

On the FTS roadshows I met some incredibly clever people, FTS user Andy who had a unique profitable method of betting horses and spreadsheet records the likes of which I had never seen before. It truly blew me away and in the brief time we chatted I could not take it all in.

At the recent FTS Horse Racing System Builder seminar, I showed 13 preset trends using the system builder that showed over 700 points profit for 2013. These are all genuine results, genuine trends, the problem was matching horses running that day to the previous trends so that bets were highlighted and could be placed. I found my way in a conversation between two techies talking about macros, VBA (I think that is what is was), none of which I understood. I just chose intervals to nod and hoped it was in the right places. Sure enough the very next day a spreadsheet arrived in my inbox with the trends built in and bets for the day can now be found in the click of a mouse, and new trends added etc. It is simply brilliant and has saved me at least 1.5 hours each morning.  Seminar attendees now use that very same sheet each day and just today we have had a 38.94 winner, which some may well have missed without this technical genius.

One of our foreign attendees sent me this nice screenshot today

To all these people I say thank you, BUT everything is eclipsed by one piece of software. It has simply changed my life.

Next week, you all, will ( I know some of you have it already) be able to try this software, see videos of how it works and simply witness it’s sheer power. There is nothing, nada, zip out there like it.

How has it changed my life? I now have fully automated analysis. I have matches on the Betfair coupon flagged instantly, I have historical pricing and liquidity. I have historical pricing and IN-PLAY LIQUIDITY and activity. I can see how much was bet and when. I can test any method I use accurately at any time in a click of a button, mouse, trackpad what ever your preferred method of computer navigation. I can devise my own systems/methods/selection methods whatever people want to call them and the software tells me what games qualify that day on Betfair. I can download odds for practically any football market and compare probabilities. I can export it all to Excel. I can have it fill in results for me, Half -Time and Full Time!!!! I can filter almost anything. Want to see games with odds on home favourites only? – Simple give it 10 seconds and you have them.

In fact other than make my bed and provide me with coffee, this software does everything for me.

Where my week was spent trawling stats and using numerous websites, as well as then working my way through a Saturday In-Play coupon of over 650 games, most of them completely pointless, I can now get up on a Friday and complete all my research and selections in a matter of minutes. Life has never been so good.

Now this may sound like exaggeration. I can tell you now the last few paragraphs do not scratch the surface of what this does. Years in development I would like to think I have had some influence on certain features but I certainly will not steal any limelight from a very clever developer.

What I will say is this. If you bet on football. If you want to win at football. If you want to back test systems. If you want to build systems. If you want to learn about football betting. If you want to look at any angle at all on football betting then this software is a must.

Forget whatever else you may have bought. Forget all the shite. Forget the disillusionment and follow FTS for the next couple of weeks as we introduce you to this software. We will give you a trial, provide support, produce videos and give you all the tools you need to use the most amazing bit of kit I have ever used all in one special FTS Introductory bonus offer. Watch this space from Monday 2nd December onwards. I ditched the Biro and A4 and will never go back. And as Manuel used to say in Fawlty Towers “I know nothinggg”

In other news we have some new trials and reviews on site and more coming. Spurs lost 6-0. A new seminar is being prepared for next March and you will be able to register interest soon, this one will be another life changing 2 days, with all previously unseen content. Spurs lost 6-0.

I have torn all the muscles in my right arm. I have tendonitis in my right wrist and the chiropractor basically classes me as a write-off. Spurs lost 6-0

I have no cooking or downstairs washing facilities so having to eat take aways and wash cups in the upstairs shower owing to a housing disaster. All in all going well. Spurs lost 6-0.

And as you may have spotted, one particular issue more troubling than my arm, my wrist the lack of a cooker or sink and draining board is sitting on my mind. Spurs lost 6-0, I mean 6-0, what the effin hell is going on!!!!!! That my friends is poor use of tech as AVB refers to his data etc yet has no clue about playing football. Just like the bettor who has all the tools but no idea how to bet. Did I mention Spurs lost 6-0! It is a bad week when Man City get more goals against your team than most of the England cricketers scored runs in the Ashes.

Deep breaths Ian!! What the Tech!!!

  1. HI Ian

An interesting post as always, and the actual basis of the post is of most importance to me. That is the lack of technical ability. I have had the soccerstato software for a couple of months now and it is indeed a huge mine of information of stats and prices etc I have been able to load lt all up and then manually look to see if value can be spotted. However when we start talking about exporting this data to excel and running/testing various system ideas it may as well be written in Portuguese (AVB understands it but we don’t). To get any value from this product the education you provide around it will need to start at a very basic level for some of us

    Regards
    Paul.

  2. Perhaps AVB needs some software or probably a few more trials.

Any news on the Gambling Academy and the long overdue content?

Regards & remember 6 is slightly better than 7.

    Seemples.

  3. I don’t know about the new software but dropbox has just changed my life !!
