Cheltenham 2021 Day Three – Ian Bets

18/03/2021

As always each year I post my Cheltenham Bets which you are free to follow at your own peril. It is one of my favourite sporting events of the year, I absolutely love the week and cannot wait for it to start.

We have had some nice winners over the years and also some beatings it is one of those kind of meetings. I get good info, often too much of it and often discard the wrong ones and it is hard to win. I am happy to throw a couple of K at the meeting each year for the excitement, obviously hoping I turn a profit. Most of the info is rom people I know in the game so i repeat up to you if you follow this.

I will post all my selections here and the results at then update results through the week. Hopefully get some ammo early to fire back at the rest of the week.

Day 3 – All Exchange Prices  I took at Time Using Betdaq as Zero Comm – Only I don’t have betting accounts

As I state follow at your own peril, my money is on could be a day for Favs today some horrible small fields.

Forward – +£372.5 – Good day yesterday put us in a nice position to attack the last two days. I do feel Entoucas also wins if jumps last two any better at all then he did.  I am annoyed , really annoyed at myself for giving £50 away on the Cross Country – didn’t sleep last night over that, F*^%%^^&&^%$% Tiger!!

Envoi Allen to complete our pre meet Cheltenham but for one punter I am sure well known by now the culmination of a 5 horse accumulator dating back to Royal Ascot and a potential 1/2 million windfall, he has partial cashed so is £322K on Envoi and £250K the field. A good day whatever and the right decision imo. Envoi should win, I am having small interest Chantry House who I have had a word for and has course form.

Chantry House £25 Win 17 – £25 Place 2.5 +437.5

Running +£810

The Bosses Oscar looks to have a great chance in this race and remains to be seen if handicapper has caught up. Milliner looks a real danger with trainer/jockey flying and likes the ground so has to be included. Copperhead looks way overpriced well fancied for the RSA last year.

The Bosses Oscar £50 Win 5.5 -£50
Milliner £40 Win 9.2- £40 Place 2.8 +£32
Copperhead £25 Win 58 – £25 Place 10 -£50

Running +£742

A tough race I love Melon who runs here but that may be just a sentimental choice which never works well punting. Allaho fancied and should go well. Fakir D’oudairies is one I like. This could be the one Walsh gets over the line.

Fakir D’oudaries £80 Win 8 £50 Place 2.78 +£9
Allaho £30 Win 5.4 +£132
Melon £20 Win 9.8 (It’s Cheltenham) -£20

Running +£863

Paisley Park  wins if anything near his best in what is to be fair a tough Stayers. You know me I like to be bullish now and then, the fact he is now 9 is my only worry. Sire Du Berlais and Fury Road too short though the latter may give a good account here just can’t touch at the price. Of the bigger prices Beacon Edge looks interesting

Paisley Park £150 Win 3.6 -£150

Beacon Edge £30 Win 16.5 – £20 Place 5 -£50

Running +£663

Proper Race – The Shunter had multiple choices for his 100K bonus and chose this so must be respected but 3.75 , going to have it as a saver on stakes. Happy Diva also chooses this over the Mares so I am having a bit there on last years runner up backed up by trends. On a day for the D’oudairies I also like Fils’D’oudairies

Happy Diva £40 Win 20 – £30 Place 4.5 -£70
Fils D’Oudairies £30 Win 19 – £30 Place 4.0 -£60
Mr Shunter £50 Win 3.75 +£137.5

Running +£670.50

Hook Up must have a great chance looking at form behind Appreciate It last time who bolted in on day 1. The Glancing Queen good course form must be included and one that is overpriced is Magic Daze to complete my trio here.

Hook Up £40 Win 7.2 £20 Place 2.9 -£60
The Glancing Queen £25 Win 10.0, £20 Place 3.9 -£45
Magic Daze £50 Win 27 £50 Place 7.0 +£250

Running +875.5

I expect the wheelbarrow to be tipping over again by now and we have two nice ones to finish. Milanford from the front and Plan of Attack who ran well last year and could be another one for Rachael

Milanford £30 Win 21 – £30 Place 4.7 -£60
Plan of Attack £50 Win 11 – £ 50 Place 3 -£100

Running +£715.5
