I will update this post before/after each race at Cheltenham today with my selections. Feel free to leave comments etc and I will answer what I can time permitting. No doubt you will be inundated with horse racing tipsters sending you guaranteed winners etc but it really is not like that, I find it a very entertaining battle and hope to come out on top.

My selections will come from a combination of

Info from my pro punting friends who bet on horses for a living and are pretty good.

I am using System Builder

The race card from Festival Racing Specialists which is good value for the week and has worked well last few years

Good Luck whatever you bet on and follow me at your peril, I take no responsibility for any losses incurred!!

  1. Thanks for taking the time to post. Greatly appreciated as always.

    Andrew

  2. Good to see that I’m on the right track… not betting just following but had 2 of the 3 above, only difference was Irving instead of Josses Hill.
    Kav

  3. Unlucky Ian but your in profit, Luckily I was on the winner.

  4. Thanks for posting your bets Ian. First day using the System builder and just had the first 2 from the 3 selections i came up with. Could be something to this!!!

  5. Thanks for Josses Hill Ian, I had Vautour from SB and Vaniteux from the Festival Racing boys. Nice steady start

  6. Had Irving/Vaniteux and Un Ace, positive to see picking similar sort of horses, only had them to win though. Onto the next one

  7. Dodging Bullets, Trifolium & Grandouet for me here from the SB.

  8. only looked the other day and watched video last night, great stuff on the 130 m8 great stuff,i had winner in double on betfair promo next race on ruby as well to put me bang in there,i done granduet ante -post i’l be checking you out alot more pal regards Jules

  9. None so far – have Vintage Star as good place chances- good jockey – all thats needed is a bit of luck

  10. 2 places in 2 races. Vintage Star, Cantlow and Tours Des Champs for the next one

  11. Alfie Sherrin, Hadrians Approach, Pacha Du Polder & will have a fourth here with Holywell all from the SB.

  12. Nothing really standing out price wise from the SB in the Champion as i’m coming up with the top 3 in the betting as the selections, so will follow Ian by not having a bet. Hope to see the Fly win.

  13. Today’s lesson for me? Make sure you get that extra place!!

  14. The New One really unlucky, was on Jezki thanks to the Festival Racing lads, cam out ahead on this one.

  15. Hi

So far two reasonable bets – two fallers – can only get better

  16. Ignoring Quevega here leaves me with Glens Melody, L’Unique, Hidden Identity & Down Ace all decent prices so will have a nibble on all four.

  17. Thought Glens Melody had it in the last one… 4 out of 4 places so far – Shotgun Paddy, Midnight Prayer & Foxrock for 4.40 for me

  18. Comes as no great surprise that Quevega stops me from having the 1,2,3 in that race.

  19. If he hadn’t of stopped riding he would have won that the way he steamed past the post at 223 BSP

  20. Thanks to Kieran’s FTS Noir Membership offer I was with 888 who gave 1/4 odds on first 4. Thanks Ian for tipping up Adrenelin Flight.

  21. Oh Brian Hughes, there was no room up the inside, may have cost the race on Attaglance, who I backed. May have won if he had kept straight. Such is racing.

    1. Think he had it Kev if he stayed out, was on my shortlist. Unlucky mate

  22. 6 places and a EW winner at 9/1. Not bad for someone who doesn’t know anything about racing. Just using system builder and common sense.

  23. Had Present View from System Builder.
Bit of a sweat, agree no gap there but
    after Chapagne getting pipped earlier,
deserved to get call on PV.

    Enjoyed the aftermoon. Thanks Ian.

  24. I enjoyed the racing and your blog today Ian. Keep up the good work + good luck all !
