Cheltenham Day 4 – Back In The Game

SHARE
14/03/2014

Back in the game as the last 2 races on Day 3 saw moving day, picking up nearly £1300 across those two races (I love big fields ha ha) to get the deficit back to a respectable -£400 which whilst not winning is not horrendous giving how difficult it is to tip winners at Cheltenham.

Festival Racing Specialists had a great day winning around 25 points and Where The Value Lies is now 50 points plus this month and continues as one of the most solid horse arc tipping services I have seen. Betting on the horses is volatile and if you get your head round that it can soon turn as I showed yesterday, from head in hands to euphoria at the end of the day. Not many better sights for a punter than to see your horse bounding up the Cheltenham hill in first place. To have 3 in the first 4 in the last race was a great sight. (To be honest just to see any of mine on their feet after Wednesday was a bonus!). You should consider signing up here – Where The Value Lies

I will update this post before/after each race at Cheltenham today with my selections. Feel free to leave comments etc and I will answer what I can time permitting. No doubt you will be inundated with horse racing tipsters sending you guaranteed winners etc but it really is not like that, I find it a very entertaining battle and hope to come out on top.

My selections will come from a combination of

Info from my pro punting friends who bet on horses for a living and are pretty good.

I am using System Builder

The race card from Festival Racing Specialists who also blanked yesterday

We also have an FTS member running a thread on using the bookies bonuses on the forum so you may want another window open to keep an eye on that.

That thread is here

Ian, FYI, the email link for todays racing directed me to yesterdays blog chat.
Masonien L’as looked a likely winner at Hexham two out by tired on the run in and Boris did him for stamina.

  6. Hi All

Am not yet suicidal but have decided that i will never make a tipster – have decided to revert back to desperation tactics and go for the one selection ie the get out of trouble stakes 5.15 Claret Cloak

  7. Oh Alan I hope your not on the wrong Emma Lavelle horse ??

  8. Come on Alan dig in son. Can’t Sys Builder help you dig any out!

  11. Had gone for First Lieutenant this morning but as it’s NR will go for Last Instalment EW

  12. Tammys Hill, Oscar Delta & Harbour Court all EW for the next.

  13. Not a betting race for me with amateurs going round the Gold Cup course and trip but Harbour Court and Pearly Steps to follow for fun.

  14. 1st winner of the day (@ 8/1 this morning) means slightly up for the day so far. Caid Du Berlais, Virak, Full Shift for the 4.40.

  15. I missed Tammys Hill on System Builder. Ian, if I post a question on this on the correct forum thread can you show me how this was achieved?

  16. What could Urbain De Sivola have done without giving the field 15 lengths start! Unlucky just place money for me this time.

  17. Right here we go, Claret Cloak, Viva Colonia and Astraced EW for 4 plus days.

    Good luck all

  18. Not as good as yesterday but well done Ian in the last. Great stuff over the four days guys, hope we can repeat it for Aintree in three weeks. Back to reality with a hot card from Uttoxeter tomorrow. Not !

  19. Ian ALL ABOUT THE LONG TERM who says that? It took you to run every Race but you ended up by the end of the Festival with a SOLID PROFIT! Davy Russell scores a TREBLE on the day, what a Jockey!!

    1. Cheers Mark and thanks for the thread and your effort it is much appreciated

  20. Great turnaround in the lucky last. A profitable Cheltenham in the end with Will Lattimore tipping up Savello , good service. Many thanks Ian this week too.

  21. Well what can i say – couldnt pick me nose as they say – in desperation decided to increase my bet on Mr Lattimores selection
Ended up with £40 e/w at 33/1 and £20 e/w at BF sp – I owe him a drink next time we meet – roll on tomorrow. – Going up to Sandown end of April if anyone wants to meet up

  22. 3-0 down at half time, but an injury time winner seals an exciting 4-3 win … nicely played, Ian…
(my first foray back into the world of ponies ends with £65 profit, cheers for posting…)

  23. Well done to all the winners, and well done Ian! Well, 0.25 pts down for the day but almost 24 pts up for the 4 days (thanks to Whisper mainly) just using the system builder. And now the football starts… good luck everyone for the weekend.

  24. Cheers to you all really enjoyed that and it epitomised betting and what you go through. Well done to all the winners, Kev, Kav and Alan in particular. Alan I will meet you at Sandown if you give me dates etc so I can get organised!!

Well done Will, WTVL and I think Festival Racing ended up in profit also for the week so just shows you can win the war!!

Off to look at footy now for the weekend, onwards and upwards!

  25. That has been a really entertaining few days, great result in the end! 🙂
