alright folks, a topic for discussion, routine.

when the databases are released every week what’s your plan, for me being new to ultimate its pretty simple I’m just downloading the databases copying the latest games on there and pasting to my macro sheet and pressing my macro buttons and checking for bets, (not sure if this is the best way or if I should just be using the weekly sheet only). pretty new to excel and got my eyes opened with some of Ians sheets on one of the zoom meetings he done!!!

I’m usually doing this after work so its late evening by the time I get a chance to do it, I assume a lot of people who are working from home etc might have a slight advantage of getting matched with the 8am prices if they have access to the databases earlier.

Finding it hard getting matched on a lot of my away lay bets on the Turkish league, I know some people have mentioned about just betting them anyway 5mins before KO but some prices are way out from the 8am prices quoted so for now to keep things simple I am just not betting if I cant get the quoted prices. so may eventually miss winners and catch more losers we will see.

thats basically it for me pretty quick easy and simple, then each week when the new databases are released I just update my results sheet for each system and thats me on to the next, I currently don’t have a running results sheet of all systems, would you recommend this or just keep separate to each system.

look forward to hearing back from you, cheers D

regarding results sheet, its imperative that you record your results, for me personally, i populate my sheet of all results from all my systems, alongside this i have two pivot tables set up on another sheet, one for the daily profit or loss and the other for all the systems.

I would see how you go this season and if you are committed and in it for the long haul, invest in Power Builder, you will not regret it, watch the videos in the members area and you will see wow powerful it is and how much time it will save you especially with the recording of results.

I place all of my bets 5 mins before KO via Bet Angel automation

I assume Powerbuilder is a one-off purchase? I.e. you buy it once and it will just work for all future seasons?

yes Neil I plan on doing this long term, but my first year I’m committed to get the consistency of just going through the process every week. do you bet 5mins before ko regardless of the difference in prices from the 8am prices on the databases?

Yes mate I take best market price, will see at the end of the season how it works out but my thinking and the assessment of some other people who have done this suggests that it all equals out over the course of a season

I’m also betting 5 mins to kick off using Bet Angel but added a rule to stop bets being placed if the price goes over 7.0, which is outside my comfort zone. When this happens (it’s only happened once so far) the Bet Angel laptop sets off a klaxon sound so I can monitor the match and see if the price drops back to something acceptable.

There’s probably a way to automate this but I’m nowhere near working it out and plan to join Chrissy’s spreadsheet club to get help.

I’ve got the software set up to record prices for each bet and built a rough and ready results scraper that pulls together data for each day. For me the main benefit of automating everything is that I can forget about the bets until the end of the day when I need to record results. I have calmed down a lot since last season when this was new and a bit scary, and am settling into a daily/weekly grind like any other job.
