Hi Guys, new here, been listening to the betslip podcasts for a few weeks and enjoyed the humour and common sense approach.

I have dabbled with trading for a few years now, on and off between work commitments.

I have watched hours of Peter Webb, Caan Berry and Sports Trading Life videos on YouTube, and had a few small wins and some disasters too 🙂

I like the approach Ian has, I am looking to set up a few different systems and play the long game.

I have been very wary of laying the draw at odds over 4 in the past but now I can see that a few losses along the way are just part of the process.

I am beginner level with excel, although I have used it at work before, mainly just entering data..

I would be grateful for any pointers of systems or resources, videos to watch etc..

Layed the draw in Inter game, hopefully safe as it’s 4-1 at half-time haha,

Cheers,  Lee

I’d spend some time listening to all the podcasts, the information is invaluable.

Don’t rush into anything, set your bank, protect your bank, set a plan and stick to it.

Never follow emotion or a hunch.

Hi and welcome

Are you an Ultimate member?

Are you interested in trading or set and forget system bets?

The reason why I ask is that there are many different resources out there depending upon what you want to do, there are many very experienced people who lurk around the forum who can point you in the right direction once its clear as to the things that you are looking for

Hi Neil,

yes I am an Ultimate member, I am interested in both trading and set and forget, I have a decent sized bank, although I am wary of going too much too soon.

I have the time to trade currently as I have taken a few months off work ( I have worked overseas for the last 7 years )

I have set my point to £25 to start with and plan on using the 50:50 staking plan Ian uses..

I need to start to record all trades too, something I never do which I know is not clever… Will help now I have Excel…

I have tried various LTD and o 2.5 strategies before with mixed results..

I have made most of the silly mistakes like going in on a market with no liquidity and without doing any research to see if it’s a dead rubber or a cup game 2nd leg etc..

Any and all guidance or constructive comments appreciated,

Lee

I would suggest that you pick a max of 3 Ultimate systems and run with them for the season, you could just pick 3 of the systems that are pre loaded or you could come up with your own, I am in my second year of Ultimate I had 6 systems last season that all did well, however I have reduced this down to 3 this season as I have devised a long term plan going forward and am essentially starting from scratch this season.

I also have a couple of FDD derived systems that I run as set and forget, these are goal market systems.

I don’t trade any games as my track record for trading football shows that I am basically not very good at it, therefore set and forget suits me perfectly.

Defiantly agree with Ian that less is more and getting yourself into the mode of repeating the same process week after week without deviating is in my opinion absolutely key to success.

I am sure that some of the other more experienced members will be able to help you too.
