+1 for tagadab.  Excellent customer service to help you get setup too.

I use SVS2000, Windows 2016 Standard (64 bit), diskspace 70, Memory 2048. This is absolute minimum as it is a bit slower than I would like.

I honestly can’t remember, but i’m on the second cheapest one and it’s adequate for me.  The cheapest one was like using a computer from the 90’s!

This entire thread is lost on me, I had to google VPS, the rest might as well be written in Russian, I have so much to learn.

Simply put, you are hiring a basic windows PC.

Basic package is about £20 pm (incl vat).

The higher the spec, more CPU, more memory or more hard drive, is more money.

SVS2000, or “2nd cheapest”, is £30 pm.

benefits?

  • Can bet from outside the UK when on your hols! (YOU MUST HIRE FROM A UK BASED PROVIDER)
  • Also available when you are on the move.
  • always on
  • centrally managed
  • support available
  • cheaper than buying a decent spec second PC.
  • secure.
  • Harder for the kids/wife/partner to alter your settings and turn apps of
  • Make windows-based apps available to Apple and Android users.

If you are using bots (TheBetEngine, FTS Bots (they are coming!) and the like) a VPS is pretty much a must for most folks, especially if you don’t like leaving you PC on 24/7. Ian runs much of his stuff using a tagadab VPS for bots and stuff stuff he can’t run on Apple.

BT is dropping my connection almost daily now for me, and my main PC refuses to automatically reconnect to the interweb. I am looking to see whether SVS2000 will meet my needs as I have roughly 10 bots running or under development. 4Mb memory could be a tad light.

I have, perhaps, said something I shouldn’t!

Ian has announced the RTS/RAP bot and that is a few weeks away.

Sorry, I get carried away sometimes.

I use Tagadab svs1000, I do not have a large amount running on it. It manages ok but seriously thinking about going to SVS2000 as sometimes it is slow. Customer support and service is first class though.

Is there a particular App that you need to access from iPhone or iPad?

Microsoft remote Access from the App Store would do it. Search the App Store to see if there other options

Parallels works for me on iPhone and iPad. I use Tagadab as well and echo what others have said, it’s great. I used a youtube video to help set it all up – search for “How to use a VPS, betting bots, with tagadab”.
