Well, what a season that was as it now finally ends.
My yearly results above speak for themselves, yet I leave this season with positives as opposed to negatives. I have learned so much this first season. I have shown that my ‘fussy’ mannerisms have ensured that every trade and bet I have placed this season has been properly recorded and accounted for in the sheets. I must be weird as I have to say the recording and accounting has been my favourite bit!!! (I have always said I should have been an accountant!).
I have shown that I have the appetite and stamina to keep going even when I know I am one of the few who have not made it work in their first year. As I hear about everyone else doing so well It hasn’t stopped me thinking ‘what am I doing wrong?’ ‘Am I cut out for this’.
It has taken this whole season for me to get to know what works and what doesn’t.
My last month’s blog pointed out what I am looking for in systems, and I am now pretty much matched up to that exact criteria for the coming season. I can confidently state now, that my Ultimate System WILL PROFIT IN 2021!
I have learnt that simply setting and forgetting about bets doesn’t happen to me. I’m like a worried parent who has allowed his kids to go out for the first time alone…. I have to keep checking up on them! Even though I do that, I have not cashed out or changed any of the bets, even though it has been tempting at times.
The COVID period has allowed me to tinker, create and review lots of different systems, which has
resulted in me having a portfolio of 24 Ultimate systems for the next season.
This does seem quite a lot, yet I have proven that I am able to place the bets on time, update the sheets properly with the results and am able to review what is working and what isn’t.
I have learned that less is more, yet with my new systems, there are fewer bets, higher ROI’s, more of the systems are based on single leagues and lower amounts will be lost as I have stricter maximum price limits on systems.
I have not yet asked anyone for help, and I have learnt from each of my mistakes that I have made this season.
This blog has helped immensely as I have been able to vent my frustrations, regardless whether anyone ever reads them or not. It is cathartic and has also meant that I have stuck to my word that I would run Ultimate, FTS Seminar 2019 and FTS Beginner as well as the blog.
In the next season I am not signing up for the additions being offered by FTS. I have not used HT Score lays or FTS Beginner shortlist selections.
I have completed the FTS Beginner Main selections, which are alongside my Poisson bets. I do hope that I can still do Poisson in the next season, although I think it may be being turned into an additional paid for add-on. If its affordable, I will have a look.
So, my new systems, all 23 of them. My aim quite bluntly is to achieve at least +150 points alone from Ultimate in this new season. This is considerably lower than the average return for the systems combined, yet I am looking at things very cautiously.
Let’s just say, if I don’t get at least +75 points for the season, I have to be disappointed and the systems have underachieved.
My Ultimate bank starts again at £500, (therefore total bank investment now stands at £2000) yet I am confident that by the end of the 4year plan (as laid out in my initial blogs) I can have several thousand in the bank.
The Trading Group will continue and I am certain that I have placed around 90-95% of trades that Ian has advised. Even though this has not been able to gain traction this season, the account for 2019 Seminar is still ¾’s full, which goes to show the importance of having such a large point bank.
Still, very committed to this and really do enjoy placing the trades and learning how the markets move. This is still a major part of the long-term plan, and clearly has the potential.
Poisson has been a positive as well as the FTS Beginner Main Selections this season.
I have created some really strong Poisson systems, which I hope to be using in the coming season, should I still have free access to Poisson?
Anyway, I have 3 seasons to get to where we have said and that remains my goal. I know I can get there.
I think I enter this coming season with everything sorted and fixed. All I need is to let the systems do their work.
Goodbye 2019/2020, roll on 2020/2021.
